So here is a little tip for all you do-it-yourself Internet Marketers. Free places to list your website for Internet Marketing – Local Search Engine Optimization.
Below you will find links to FREE sites you should be listed with. This list maybe incomplete, and I would gladly appreciate any post that adds to it.
Best of the Web – Local – Submit your website to BOTW Local (you have to sign up for a free account)
Bing – Submit your site to Bing (SEARCH your 'business' and then when not found, press ADD NEW LISTING, will need to sign in with LiveID)
CityVoter – Submit your website to CityVoter – NOTE: Select your city, then submit.
Google Places – Submit your website to Google
Kudzu – Submit your website to Kudzu
Linked-In – Submit your site to Linked-In
MagicYellow.com – Submit your website to MagicYellow (enter Phone number, add listing [i used my google voice number] )
Manta – Submit your site to Manta

The main thing to keep in mind when submitting to these sites is to standardize your submissions.
On every submission I have created I used the exact same spelling on all of the websites. This validates my use of this address on all locations, but the one I mainly care about “Google” will truly improve your places page.
Time consuming right? well, duh. but if you're rich and have plenty of money to throw around, hire someone to do it there's plenty of people out there doing link submissions as well as backlinks for cheap, but if you do it yourself, you will know you've done it right... just a thought
